Privacy Policy

How WorkDaten handles site analytics, calculator inputs, cookies and contact requests.

Data collected

WorkDaten stores only the technical data needed to operate the site, measure aggregate usage and respond to user requests. Calculator values remain client-side unless an explicit future export or account feature is enabled.

Analytics are used to understand which pages and tools are most useful, which countries attract the highest demand and where localization gaps remain.

Legal basis for processing

Processing of operational data such as server logs and aggregated analytics is carried out on the legal basis of legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, in order to operate, secure and improve the WorkDaten platform. Processing that depends on user consent — typically optional cookies, analytics that go beyond aggregate measurement and any future personalisation features — is carried out on the basis of explicit consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Where a user submits a contact form or requests an action such as data access or deletion, processing is carried out on the basis of pre-contractual or contractual necessity under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for handling the request, and on the legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR where applicable to honour data subject rights.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future, without affecting processing that has already taken place on the basis of consent. The cookie consent banner exposes a visible control to revisit and update preferences.

Retention periods

Server logs are retained for up to thirty days for security and incident-response purposes, then deleted or fully anonymised. Aggregated analytics that have lost any link to an individual user are retained for the lifetime of the project as historical product metrics.

Cookie consent records are retained for up to twelve months from the last user interaction, after which the consent banner re-prompts so the user can make a fresh decision. Contact form submissions are retained for up to twenty-four months unless a longer period is justified by the nature of the request.

Data subject right requests (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are logged and retained for the legally required period in order to demonstrate compliance with GDPR Article 7 and Article 30. Where retention conflicts with an erasure request, the conflict and its resolution are documented in writing.

Recipients and processors

WorkDaten relies on a small set of EU-based or EU-equivalent infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN, error monitoring, analytics, email delivery) which act as data processors under written agreements compliant with Article 28 GDPR. The list of active processors is maintained internally and can be requested through the contact channel below.

Where a processor is located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, an adequacy decision or another lawful transfer mechanism in accordance with Chapter V GDPR. Cross-border data transfer impact assessments are documented for processors operating outside the EEA.

WorkDaten does not sell personal data and does not share personal data with advertising networks for behavioural targeting beyond what is required for contextual ad serving in line with the cookie consent given by the user.

Your rights as a data subject

Under GDPR Articles 15 to 22 you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

Requests can be sent to the contact channel listed in the Imprint or Contact page and are answered within thirty days, free of charge for the first request per calendar year. Where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, a reasonable fee may be charged or the request may be refused with a written explanation.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you reside, work or where the alleged infringement took place.

How it works

WorkDaten keeps privacy, cookie and terms information close to the rest of the platform so users can review important policies without losing the same language and navigation context.

Example use case

Before relying on a calculator for a recurring workflow, a team can review the legal pages to understand how WorkDaten frames privacy, cookies and platform responsibilities.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people most often ask before relying on the page.

What is the purpose of the Privacy Policy page?
It explains the legal, privacy or platform-use baseline that applies to this part of WorkDaten.
Do calculator inputs create an account automatically?
No. Using the calculators does not create an account by itself.
How should legal pages be interpreted?
They explain the platform position in plain language, but they do not replace formal legal advice for your business.
Does WorkDaten provide regulated advice?
No. WorkDaten offers planning information and estimator tools, while regulated decisions still require official verification.
How does WorkDaten handle my data?
WorkDaten only stores the technical data needed to operate the site (server logs, aggregated analytics, cookie preferences when consented) and any data you explicitly send via a contact form. Calculator inputs remain on your device unless you explicitly choose a future feature that exports them.
Where can I read the full Privacy Policy?
The full Privacy Policy is linked from the footer of every page and from the Legal section. It explains exactly which data is collected, why it is collected, how long it is stored and how you can request access, correction or deletion under EU GDPR.
Does WorkDaten use cookies?
WorkDaten uses essential cookies that are required for the site to function and an optional analytics layer that helps us understand which pages are most useful. The optional layer is only loaded after you accept it through the cookie banner.
How can I exercise my GDPR rights?
Use the contact link in the footer to request access, rectification, deletion or data portability under GDPR. Requests are answered within thirty days, and most can be resolved much faster because WorkDaten holds very little personal data per visitor.
Is WorkDaten subject to a specific data protection regulator?
WorkDaten is operated from the European Union and is subject to GDPR. The competent supervisory authority follows the establishment of the operator, and the contact information for data protection inquiries is available in the Privacy Policy.
Where can I find the Terms of Service?
The Terms of Service are linked from the footer of every page and from the Legal section. They describe the scope of the service, the limits of the information provided and the basic commercial framework for using WorkDaten.
